Description

The Active Mobility Bill is a proposed law to protect the rights of pedestrians and cyclists to safe, accessible, and connected networks in urban Karnataka- placing people before vehicles. The draft of this bill, which provides an institutional framework and safeguards the rights of pedestrians and cyclists in Karnataka, was prepared by DULT GoK in 2021, but is yet to be passed in the legislative assembly. There is an ongoing campaign anchored by the Sustainable Mobility Network to advocate for tabling the bill in the upcoming 2026 monsoon session of the Karnataka Assembly. There are many reasons why this matters for you; one important reason being what safe walking and cycling options mean for your health, especially in the time of climate change. Let's rethink the cities we build for future generations. Register now! (https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/hvFAdoJURgKpMQLjKPFX4Q)
