Across Indian cities, municipalities are seeking to integrate informal waste workers into formal waste management systems.
Yet these efforts do not always result in secure or lasting inclusion. But why?
To explore this question, Nidhi Subramanyam (Assistant Professor, Department of Geography and Planning at the University of Toronto) will share findings from her comparative research in Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, and South Goa. The talk will examine what it takes to make these arrangements work in practice.
The discussion will be moderated by @arkaja_singh (Fellow, CPR).
