Young people are redesigning their lives around a changing climate, in ways that have almost become second nature. They’re navigating hotter cities and schools, changing their routines, and making everyday choices around a crisis they didn’t create. But when we ask young people to “speak up”, “take action” and “be part of the solution”, are we actually giving them meaningful ways to shape the decisions that affect their lives? Agency is not the same as responsibility. Young people shouldn’t have to carry the weight of problems created by larger systems. So what would it look like to build real pathways for young people to participate in climate decision-making – and have a say in shaping the future they’ll inherit? That’s the question we’re exploring. Join us on August 27, 2026 at 7 PM as we unpack what meaningful youth agency could look like, and what it would take to make young people part of shaping the systems that affect their lives.
